A lot of content for web pages will start out as Microsoft Word documents. You may get things sent to you, or you may just feel more comfortable composing there, offline. You can paste things into the website from Word, but there is one extra step. This is because Word adds a lot of extra information, and it needs to be removed before the page can be displayed properly. The instructions work the same in Windows and OSX, and in fact work fine when pasting from Open Office as well. The image below shows the editing screen, with the mouse pointer about to click on the "Paste from Word" button. Once you click on the button, you will see the screen below: Copy the text you wish to paste to the clipboard, and press Ctrl-V or Command-V to paste it in, and click OK. You don't need to change the options at the bottom of the window. The text should appear in the editor window, and look much like it did in Word. Tables should also work well, but images will need to be done separately. If it doesn't look the same, try saving the page and viewing it on the site, as pages do look a bit different in the editor and on the site. |
