Community contributions to the Encyclopedia will only occur if enough people view the Encyclopedia as a sufficiently useful and compelling resource that they will visit the Encyclopedia regularly in the first place. At the initial public rollout, we propose the Encyclopedia will incorporate the following:
- Major league player and team statistics, based on Pete Palmer's data
- Authoritative biographical and demographic information on Major League players from the Biographical Committee
- Integration with BioProject biographies
- Minor league player and team statistics, based on the SABR Minor Leagues Database and the Washuta Database
- Minor league league-season summaries, mostly from the 19th century from Reed Howard. (These summaries contain non-statistical data such as highlights, league organization changes, and so forth.)
- Minor league ballparks, based on the register compiled by Gord Brown, Ted Lukacs, and others
- College team histories, based on the pages compiled by Rick Benner
